28/2 - Yes Yes I missed a day

It's true, I did miss a day. But having visitors for the weekend makes it a little tricky. I wont say it wont happen again, who knows what the future holds.....
Anyway, this pic is courtesy of my good friend J. No, my great friend J. Her and M went to a cheese factory and sampled their wares over some wine. I was told it was extremely enjoyable, if not a little cheesey....ha.

26/2 - In the Purtsiut of Trivia

we had TinPan Orange and I'll be writing about Trivial Pursuit....(correct spelling)

There will unfortunaely not be a photo blog this evening. Tonight M & J will be challenging B and I to a game of Trivial Pursuit and I am extremely confident that we will kick their asses. M may be a Boy Genius and J a nerd of extreme proportions, but I am extremely gifted in the world of music ability and B knows a lot of useless information about sporting trivia.......

At 6pm today we had the whole beach to ourselves. The whole beach was ours. Oh how I love this town.....

22/02 - These are a few of my favourite things

We have had such fun watching the Winter Olympics and my neice, Little L, decided she wanted to be a bob-sleder!
We had a great time throwing ourselves on the carbet bob-sledding around the loungeroom.

Saturday - For those of you playing at home

 

This is my favourite of all my tablecloths. It's from Germany and cost me just $15. As soon as I saw it I loved it. It's original purpose was to be the tablecloth on the Lolly Buffet at the wedding (it did a wonderful job) and now it proudly sits on my dining table. Needs to have those creases ironed out though doesn't it.....

Summertime and the livin' is easy

 

It's happened
This is the vine that grows on our front wall. It has the most beautiful lush green leaves during summer.
But when summer is fading
Out come the crimson leaves.
I LOVE the red colour they change to. It's awesome to see a wall covered in red leaves.
But it means that autumn is tap tap tapping on our door and soon this gorgeous blue sky and hot bitumen road will be gone again for another year.
Damn you beautiful red leaves.

Dirty Dishes Done Dirt Cheap

 

Don't you hate it when you come home from your place of employment or education to find this waiting for you? Urgh. No motivation in the world was strong enough for me to want to stick my hands in those soggy green gloves and scrub last nights baked beans off the pot......
But my friends, I did it. I ate one quarter of a bag of marshmallows, 3 ginger nut biscuits, a hand full of crackers and big gulp of milk and I managed to work up the courage to do them
Hooray for procrastination!

Look Mum, I'm a Wabbit!

 

Since my knitting needles have been sitting on my wooden chest for 3 days, Polly decided that she'd get more use out of them. She picked them up and put them straight on top of her head and said "Look Mum, I'm a Wabbit"

It was so adorable. And clever I might add! I'm raising a genius. Though she does sometimes remind me of that kid out of the movie 'Parenthood' who runs into walls with a bucket on his head.....

Knit You Wit!

 

Today I am 30 and 1 week. And I'm fine with it. Totally fine.
One of the things on my 'To Do' list is to finish knitting a scarf. I have started plenty of scarves in my time, and most end up being pulled apart or long forgotten about only to be stored for years, right at the bottom of our storage cupboard. Well not this time! This time I will succeed in completing my scarf - mainly because I will be posting a picture of it Mondays fortnightly.(Lets not be ridiculous about my accomplishments. Baby steps my friends....baby steps)

The sun is shining the weather is sweet..Makes me want to move my dancing feet

What a glorious day we had in D-Town today.
We popped into our nicely air-conditioned car and drove to one of the prettiest beaches we know.
The water was cool, the sand warm and the sun shining.
While B & P splashed in the water I read my book
'Committed' by Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat Pray Love author)
And gazed at my lovely warm, sandy covered toes.

Ta Da! Here is the final product. Miss P and I finished baking and icing it last night all ready to take to work for morning tea.
Then, around 12:30pm, it started. Miss P started vomitting. Vomitting means no day care. No day care means no work. No work means no going on our romantic night away tonight! We were off to dinner and then to a small Bed and Breakfast where we would fully utilise the bed....for sleeping in till at least 10am!

The trials and tribulations of parenthood.

 

I still haven't finished this damn 30th birthday! Tomorrow I have to take a cake to work to remind people I turned 30. I made a gorgeous carrot cake from scratch and this is how it turned out.

I promptly took myself to the supermarket and bought a box cake......

 

This afternoon Polly and i played with bubbles. They are great fun. Even when Polly left to go play in her cubby I kept blowing bubbles. I ended up getting very light headed and needed to lay down on the grass for a few minutes from the lack of oxygen. Syntehetically beautiful.

Good day for washing

Today is a great day for drying the washing on the line.
Why do I procrastinate so much when it comes to doing the washing?
Sometimes I've had to re-wash clothes twice!
Hell, I did it 3 times with a load just the other day.
But today is a great day for drying the washing on the line.

My Birthday Theme Song

So today is the day. That's it. I'm now 30. I'm 30 years old. I am in my 30's. I know a lot of people don't quite understand what I'm going on about, but it's a big deal to me.

*I'm not where I thought I would be when I was 30, so I'm having to re-evaluate the situation and come to terms with it a bit I guess

*Not sure if I can get away with enjoying watching re-runs of Blossom on YouTube

*I have to make a decision to make a decision to have more kids or not. I'm 30 and I've got about 10 years before things start to get a bit tricky.

Oh there are more, but after a few middies of Coopers Pale Ale I'm all out.

Day 1 Watermelon Worries

Tomorrow I turn 30, and it's causing me some distress.

But Polly was eating watermelon and it was giong all over her new T-Shirt. Should that cause me more distress as I do't have any napisan?
