Today is just an average day- 31/03

I have had the most painful tooth today.
I could nearly say excruciating - though that would be a little OTT.
I've had Advil but it wears off after 4 hours so I have to just bust through it.
I went to the dentist on Monday who gave me my first scale and clean and I think that's just stirred everything up a little.
Oh, and I made an appt for July to get my 2 wisdoms ripped out of my head.
Lovely!
Though I think this stuff would really help me......

Back in the Olden Days - 30/03

Oh my! Look what I found today. My passport, and along with it, my passport photo. Does anyone else think I look like I've had botox? Look at those apples in the cheeks, and the lips! Phew, eat your heart Angelina.
As we went through various customs I did get a few sniggers about my photo. In South America the customs officer even called another officer over to look at it, and they both giggled. The cheek of them!

Cook Books aren't a guilty pleasure.....They're a neccesity 29/03

I LOVE baking. Well, I love cooking but if I have any spare time I bake. Even if we have no clean clothes, a dirty bathroom and an unswept floor, we always have some kind of delicious baked good in the cupboard.
Then today as I was getting dressed I caught sight of the elusive 'Muffin Top'.
Oh god, all those brownies and cakes and biscuits and pikelets have finally landed on my hips and taken over.
Kevina told me on average a woman puts on 10kg in her first year of marriage. Well I'm on my way Kev!
But then I went to the cupboard and ate 2 delicious, moist chocolaty-chocolate brownies and gave up caring......Oooohhhh food is delightful.

Whats new Pussycat - 28/03

How cool is this? It's an exchange library. People line up to swap book s they've already read, and choose a new book to read. What a novel and fun idea. I have discovered www.stumbleupon.com and I'm in trouble....Because of it I've already baked the most DELICIOUS brownies (1 cup of butter, 1 cup of sugar....you get the idea) and I'm alrady addicted.
Go check it out. Now.....

Figgy in the Middle - 26/03

Yesterday P and I went to our very new friends, Rachel & Aila's house. We had a gorgeous, gorgeous morning tea outside with tea cups and teapots and pikelets. Yum!
Then we went wandering in down the back for a jump on the old school trampoline and spied the fig tree. P had her first fig and fell instantly in love. More figs More figs!
This afternoon we had to go to the shops and buy some. We purchased half a dozen local spray free, sweet smelling figs and promptly sat ourselves on the seat outside the shop and ate 2 figs each. The perfume was so sweet. We climbed into the car and shared one more on the drive home. Now we have one lonely fig left. And i have some vanilla icecream in the freezer.....Fresh figs, vanilla icecream, a warm doona, my funny book. Goodnight everybody!

Lemon Cake - 22/03

After a big morning of haircuts and swimming, Miss P and I came home and baked a yummy lemon cake. She was keen for her afternoon nap because I told her when she wakes up she can have some. She's driven by food.....

Pink Ladies - 17/03

Yesterday P and I made some new Playdough......HOT PINK
It's the best colour we've made yet. We've made your average blues and greens, but this hot pink looks awesome when made into piggy faces, bracelets and snakes.

The Change is Coming - 15/03

This is what the beach looked like yesterday. It was a max. 20 degrees and drizzling rain all day.
Friday was 40 degrees.
How funny is that. It was such an extreme change. We still had to head out for a play at the beach though.

13/03 - Tree Fallin'

I have some really great photos today. P and I went to a friends farm and had a play with black sheep and a pony named Dominic. But then I saw the gorgeous Karris at the back of the property. they are the most beautiful trees. Though the taxi driver last night did tell me they are known as 'Widow Makers' because they drop their branches when they get too hot. I guess the less branches the less water the tree has to have.....

11/03 Current Currant

Another glorious day in the life of D-Town.
I woke up this morning because the birds were so damn loud with all their happy chirping. I actually got up to look out the back window and there were 2 kookaburras on the back fence and 1 on the clothesline.
A few hours later P and I went back to the beach for a freeeeeezing swim. Why is the water so cold here? Why does the Leuwin Current go through Albany, but not here?.......

08/03 - Windy Windy Windy

I love the beach. I love the beaches in Denmark. I especially love them when the weather's not too flash. This afternoon P and I went down there for a walk along the powdery white sand and the wind was a howlin'! It was awesome.
We watched the kite surfers and ran after them on the beach. We collected shells and pieces of beach 'stuff'. And I learnt that P is really good at climbing on beach rocks.

07/03 Fire in the Night Sky

What a humbling sunset this evening..... I've had a pretty emotional week this week. Purely wrapped up in my own thoughts. I've been looking forward to the end of the week so I could just write it off pretty much. And then this happened. This beautiful sky came before me. How lucky am I that I was born in a country at a time where I could sit in a comfy chair, listen to Soundgarden (thanks D) and watch the sunset with a beer. Life is pretty great.

I was going to post a picture of the awesome rotisserie chicken D cooked for our dinner.
Yeeeaaahh! It was sooo smokey and spicy. Maybe even the best chicken I've tasted. Big call I know, I've eaten plenty of fowl in my time. But damn it was good.

06/03

There is no need for words. My baby is such a percious, beautiful girl.
I truly am so blessed that she chose B and I to be her Mummy and Daddy.
She learns somethinf new everyday and has B and I in stitches everyday.
Todays example:
B: "P, do you want some icecream?"
P: "Yes"
B: "Yes what?"
P: "Yes Brent Haythornthwaite"

04/03 - Love is like a Heatwave

Today P and I went to Y & Mr P's house. And they have a sauna in their spare room. Completely normal and perfectly acceptable right? Apparently Mr P sits in there in his undies with it turned to 65 degrees and listens to talk0back radio. What an unbelievably hot mental picture. Love ya Mr P! And your undies.

02/03 - The Fringe Fest

So I think having a new hair cut makes you feel like a little bit of a new person. It's like a new mask maybe. I was told today it looks great "And cheaper than Botox"........ Hopefully both those things are true.

01/03 - Queen of Procrastination

So as promised, here is my knitting, 2 weeks after my first knitting post. Oh. I see. Not much done at all. It's on the list, just haven't got around to it yet. I was planning on starting last night after our guests left, but I can always find a distraction from a task I set myself. It's a skill I have.
