Make & Make Do - 26/06

I don't create many things.
Sure I have ideas. I have loads of ideas. But most times that's how they stay. I don't have the skills to know how to turn those ideas into reality.
But last week I saw some gorgeous fabric that I knew needed to be a part of my life. So today i sat down on the floor and tried to work some magic.

And you know, I'm pretty pleased with myself. Now 2m of the fabric left, a staple gun full of staples and an itchy trigger finger so we are off to the tip shop this afternoon to find something else to satisfy my new found craving for stapling material to things.

The Story of a Red-Headed Woman Running the Country

Today I stood in front of the TV with my daughter in my arms and cried a little (just a little)

We have a female PM. A woman. A girl running the country. I'm so excited about what this means for the women of Polly's generation.

What a time to be in, us with Jules as Pm and USA with Barack as President.

Kitchen Bitch'n - 22/06

Look what I just got delivered. I am in heaven!
It's aubergine and weighs a tonne and is awesome.
Tonight we're having char-grilled salmon and limes with a dill and mint yogurt, served with smashed 'taters and asparagus.
Our dinner guest just cancelled on us, so there's one spare plate left. Any takers?

Tip Shop is the Rockin' Shop - 12/06

Polly and I love the Tip Shop. We love the Tip Shop so much that today we spent an hour and a half fossicking through boxes and baskets instead of going to the beach as planned.

Polly tells me today it's "not scary, it's beautiful". That's what i think too.

As I trawl through the dusty old books and kitchen wares, Polly always manages to find the smallest toy she can and begs me to take it home.

Today we came away with:

*A doily table runner

*A beautiful painted vase

*An Indian trinket box

*A warm puffy vest (for me)

*2 Tupperware containers

*4 other seal able containers 

*A step for Polly to use in the bathroom

*Good Housekeeping Cookbook - Published in 1925

All for the measly sum of $5

We got home and Polly cleaned up her new step to show off to Dada when he got home.

Heart of Glass - 08/06

Today I felt fragile.

My sweet little Miss P was so patient with me.
We baked a big ol' batch of choc chip cookies and sat at the kitchen table and ate 3 each.
(I had 6, but a toddler simply cannot keep up with my biscuit eating)
And whaddya know, I've felt great ever since!
Oh the joy sugar, butter and choc chips can bring to a woman in crisis.....

Two weeks since my last post. I guess life gets in the way of a blog update huh?!
